The Most Cherished is to Be Loved

"The Most Cherished is to Be Loved" is a storybook in progress, sharing the tale of a little dog named A-Ting and illustrator Li Jin-Lun's encounter. This book leaves the latter half for readers to complete. Little dog A-Ting waits in the middle of the book to "meet" the character created by the reader, resulting in a uniquely touching picture book. Illustrator and Principal of the Tassel-less Banana Animal School, Li Jin-Lun, has been giving a voice to animals through her work for twenty years. Many grew up reading her creations, such as "Zi Er, Tu Tu." From "Animal Hospital No. 39," "A Kind, Gentle, and Rich Lady and Her Hundred Dogs," "Speaking Ill of Cats," "Calling My Cat," to the 2023 new release "A Dog's Will," her works have touched everyone who deeply loves animals. From picture books, writing columns, and visiting schools, to designing cultural and creative products, she uses the power of creation to teach more children to be kind to animals. Through this, she discovered that the most fundamental way to improve the plight of stray animals lies within "people." Thus, the Tassel-less Banana Animal School was born! The Tassel-less Banana Animal School, located at Pier 2 in Kaohsiung, is Taiwan's first nurturing base that combines creative work with animal knowledge promotion. It aims to accompany both people and animals in learning together. By telling stories and promoting "get to know them first, then adopt," the school hopes for mutual well-being and lifelong companionship between people and pets, preventing abandonment from happening. Since its operational launch in March 2022, it has received the 2022 Golden Pin Design Award for Social Design, the 2022 Social Care Environmental Friendly Award, and the 2023 German Service Design Award in Education and Learning.
