Previously, I created a piece inspired by galaxies, featuring two main corundum stones. After a valued customer collected it, I've been eager to revisit this theme, which served as the starting point for this creation. The initial concept is difficult to name precisely, but it draws inspiration from visual or two-dimensional works that depict compositions like a circular outline of the Earth sprouting numerous skyscrapers or famous landmarks. This piece was originally intended as an homage to such artistic styles. Thus, the sunstone, representing a central star, forms the core (this piece is a dazzling, albeit small, loose gem with intense brilliance). It is surrounded by representations of stars, other galaxies, and various luminous bodies we might not clearly discern, all in the form of gemstones. For us, gazing at the cosmos, these are objects filled with imagination, mystery, and brilliance. Initially, I selected a larger loose stone for the pendant, intending to place it directly below, as is customary. However, halfway through the creation process, I felt a sense of constraint from the conventional shape. Consequently, I adjusted the overall balance, leaving a small opening at the lower right. Here, a vividly blue moonstone teardrop was added, symbolizing a meteor or a starship. As it sways with movement, it might suggest an approach to this galaxy or a departure from it. My hope is that this arrangement allows for greater freedom of imagination within the piece. The accompanying 925 silver neck cord, though a finished chain, is a specially sourced and ordered style. It's a neck cord type with more flexibility than a standard chain, which I believe best captures the essence of an orbit. The subtle twist in the chain creates a play of light, reminiscent of a shimmering star river. This has been included as the standard pairing for this piece. The accompanying short necklace, designed to be complementary and crafted around the same theme, is another new endeavor. The main bead is a star-connected sunstone, symbolizing distant galaxies. The accompanying black opal and silver obsidian are stones that possess both dark depths and flashes of light, while the granulated silver beads represent pure luminosity. The intention is to capture the unknown, the ever-changing nature of the universe, and the beauty of distance derived from mystery and infinity. Its length falls within the choker to collarbone range, making it suitable for layering or wearing alone.
