Vegetable-tanned leather also deepens in color with use; it develops a richer caramel hue over time. • Natural leather surfaces have pores, similar to skin, which absorb moisture. Faint watermarks may appear after air-drying, which is a natural characteristic. The piece is finished with a conditioning oil to minimize absorption of moisture and stains. • Avoid prolonged immersion in water. If accidentally wet, air dry in a ventilated area away from direct sunlight. • Light scuffs can be gently wiped with a clean cotton cloth.
