However, briarwood naturally has 'black spots' due to its origin from burls, so each piece will have them to varying degrees. The burls are turned into intricate and beautiful patterns. Through numerous stages of spraying, sanding, and polishing, the pen achieves a remarkably solid feel in hand. Under the high-definition, high-gloss transparent lacquer, the texture is further enhanced. This high-definition, high-gloss finish is easy to maintain and resistant to ink stains or perspiration, making the wood grain appear even more three-dimensional. Many pens on the market are simply polished or waxed after being turned from raw wood; such elaborate processing is exceptionally rare.
