The high-definition, high-gloss process involves repeatedly applying transparent lacquer and polishing until the pores formed in the wood grain over years are filled with lacquer. This process is repeated dozens of times. The high-definition, high-gloss finish creates a smoother surface, offering a more tactile writing experience and making the exquisite wood grain appear more three-dimensional and distinct. It also makes the surface easier to maintain, protecting the wooden body from accidental ink stains. However, this technique incurs a higher cost. The high-definition, high-gloss finish resembles the luster of premium wood trim in luxury car interiors – it's mirror-like and feels exceptionally substantial in hand. Most pens on the market are merely polished or waxed after turning; this kind of elaborate finishing is exceptionally rare (natural grain, premium quality, random selection). The pen is accented with originally turned brass components, electroplated in a gunmetal grey finish, featuring a rotating airtight cap and a specially designed flexible clip. The nib is a German Bock #250 (#6) two-tone steel nib, expertly handcrafted by Old Goat artisans into a calligraphy nib capable of producing distinct line variations, mimicking a brush pen. For the calligraphy nib, it is recommended to start by dipping the nib in ink for writing (do not remove the converter installed in the barrel; this prevents ink from flowing back into the pen body after writing). Allow the nib to break in and adapt to its characteristics over a period, then use the converter for inking and writing. 2. The calligraphy nib is an EF nib that has been ground and adjusted to have a curved tip, allowing for line variation not solely through pressure, but by controlling the writing angle. By holding the pen more upright, the contact area between the nib and the paper is smaller, resulting in finer lines. As you tilt the pen more or apply slight pressure, the contact area increases, producing thicker lines.
