Asymmetrical Earrings Featuring Blue Dogon Donuts, Afghan Metal, and Ethnic Bells

These are asymmetrical earrings, connecting Blue Dogon donuts, Afghan metal pieces, and ethnic bells. The ring-shaped beads are said to have traveled from the Netherlands (or possibly Venice or Germany...) to West Africa, eventually reaching the Dogon people of Mali. They are known as Dutch donuts or Dogon donuts. The semi-clear blue is truly beautiful when held up to the light! The color and shape of each bead differ slightly from left to right. As they are antique, they have minor scratches, but these only add to their charming appeal. (Circa 19th century) (Dogon donut size: diameter 1.3-1.5 cm) The slightly bent, pretzel-like piece, the figure-eight piece, and the chains are all old Afghan metal. (Figure-eight Afghan metal size: 3 cm height, 1.4 cm width) The small bells are from the Kuchi tribe of Afghanistan, once part of decorative items; these are also antique.
