The thread motif is made with traditional embroidery technique “ñanduti “ from Paraguay, South America. It looks delicate, but the thread motif is glued. So it’s rather crisp. Ñanduti means “spider web” in the local language Guarani. As the name suggests, it is a delicate handwork made with thread. The embroidery is glued and hardened. After removing only the embroidered part from the cloth, ñanduti is ready. One flower can be seen on the front and back. The motif of ñanduti, which was made in the shape of a strip, was bent to make it three-dimensional, so the delicacy of the thread stands out even more. Due to the nature of the technique, ñanduti accessories tend to be flat, but I wanted to express the delicacy of the material by making it three dimensional, also, I have always wanted to make ñanduti earrings with an integrated catch.
