Tama-Suzu Chime (Karin Wood Striker)
This chime, with its jade pebble-like exterior, sways enchantingly when gently struck. Designed by Koizumi Studio, the Tama-Suzu chime provides a calming experience for both the ears and eyes.
The striker, crafted from ebony/karin wood or maple, features a brass base. This not only lends a premium feel but also enhances the clarity and resonance of its sound. The inverted design of the chime further extends the lingering afterglow of its tone.
A unique feature of the striker is its ability to stand upright on its own, much like a daruma doll, ensuring it never topples.
The Tama-Suzu chime was honored with the GOOD DESIGN AWARD in 2005.
Handcrafted by artisans in Takaoka City, Toyama Prefecture, a region celebrated for its brass craftsmanship in Japan.
