We made the string a little longer at 27cm so that it can be used with paperbacks, new books (larger than paperbacks), notebooks, etc. (The photo shows a paperback book). To make the goldfish stand out in vividness, we used multiple different colors to create a gradation rather than a single color. To express the feel of scales, the belly is painted with pearl, which gives it a delicate sparkle depending on the angle. The dorsal, pectoral, ventral, and caudal fins (four tails) are made thin and transparent. Even the fine lines on the tail fin were carefully drawn one by one with a thin brush. The beads attached to the goldfish bag have a water balloon design. The string for the bookmark is made of human-five string dyed with a durable dye (a dye that does not fade easily when exposed to UV rays). Ningohimo is a string used for hanging decorations and Japanese ornaments, so it has an elegant luster and is flexible but also has just the right amount of hardness. We pasted Unryu Japanese paper on the poi and coated it with resin to prevent it from tearing.
