Kalimantan Agarwood | Top-tier Xingzhou-style Region – Rich, Cool Aroma
Within the Xingzhou-style agarwood regions, Kalimantan agarwood has long been recognized as a benchmark for high-quality agarwood. Located in Indonesian Borneo, this vast island is approximately fifteen times the size of Taiwan but has a relatively sparse population. This allows for the preservation of extensive primary rainforests, creating an ideal environment for the growth and formation of natural agarwood.
In recent years, due to over-harvesting of agarwood resources, the yield of natural Kalimantan agarwood has rapidly declined. Agarwood with high oil content and rich fragrance has become exceedingly rare. High-quality Kalimantan agarwood currently circulating in the market is often found through serendipity and holds significant collector's value.
Kalimantan agarwood is renowned for its deep, rich fragrance profile. It begins with a distinct woody agarwood scent, followed by a natural coolness intertwined with notes of frankincense. Some older pieces may even reveal a gentle floral and fruity sweetness. The overall aroma is layered, warm, and substantial, offering a lingering scent that is deeply appreciated by agarwood connoisseurs and enthusiasts alike.
Currently, Kalimantan agarwood aged over thirty years is even more precious. These pieces are often preserved by previous generations of collectors, and their fragrance has become more mellow and stable over time. Listed on online platforms, these treasures are accessible for discerning collectors to browse and select with confidence. Whether for daily appreciation or long-term collection, they offer exceptional value.

Born in Hsinchu, Taiwan, in 1983, Kwood trained in craft design. He once wandered the streets of Japan, experiencing how wooden art infused the old alleyways with warm, profound life. Objects that seemed like fragments of time, carrying the traces of history and the contours of the future, sought a delicate balance between opposition and harmony. This transformed into refined works, tightly connecting the vision of the new generation with the simplicity of the old era. Agarwood, once ground into powder for its scent, was solemnly placed in a prominent area of homes in Japan, symbolizing vitality and light.
The agarwood wood originates directly from its source, pure and flawless, untouched by artificial treatments such as resin infusion, line drawing, or fragrances. It is presented in its most original form. Through ancient techniques, the outer layer of the deadwood is meticulously peeled away by hand, revealing the true soul of the agarwood. This not only imbues it with eternal vitality but also harmoniously intertwines tradition and modern craftsmanship at your fingertips, creating a feast for the eyes and the senses. Its rich aroma is like the condensation of time, gently drawing together memories of the past and aspirations for the future, allowing them to meet and resonate within the fragrant notes, extending endlessly, distant and profound.
