Vintage English bone china teacup and saucer from the Royal Ascot series made by Royal Albert.
Westbury series made by Royal Albert. Thomas C. Wild bought the Albert Works in Longton, Stoke on Trent in 1895. This factory had been named after Prince Albert, Queen Victoria's Consort. It specialised in tea, breakfast and dessert pieces with floral designs, and it soon gained a reputation of producing beautiful china tea & breakfast sets, firmly establishing the Royal Albert name.
The Royal Ascot design was in production from 1982 to 1990. It features a Montrose style cup and scalloped saucer. This set is in undamaged, good condition. There is some small wear only on the gold tones of both the cup and the saucer. The saucer has some small surface marks on the glaze as well as slight wear on the print.
