KAVALAN: 3952 Old Goat - Named after an ancient place name in Yilan, Taiwan, this premium natural lacquer painted pen series features antique copper-plated fittings and a special spring-loaded clip design. The nib is a German Bock #250 (#6) rose gold steel nib, handcrafted and tuned by Old Goat artisans to create a calligraphy nib that produces variations in line width, reminiscent of traditional Chinese brush writing. Hand-tuned Calligraphy Nib: 1. For calligraphy nibs, it is generally recommended to first dip in ink and allow it to condition for a period before using a converter. 2. If the ink flow is interrupted when using a converter, check the angle at which you hold the nib. Both iridium points should land on the paper simultaneously, not skewed to one side. If interruption persists, check if paper fibers or debris are caught on the nib. 3. Remove the converter and try filling the ink by gravity. 4. Rinse the nib first. If you write with one iridium point consistently higher than the other, or apply excessive pressure, it can cause misalignment of the iridium points, creating a height difference that may scratch the paper and accumulate debris in the nib slit. 5. The calligraphy nib is adjusted from an EF nib to have a curved tip. Line width variation is achieved not by pressing down, but by the angle of the pen holder, utilizing the nib's curvature to create different line thicknesses. Holding the pen more upright results in less contact area with the paper and finer lines. The more the pen is tilted, the larger the contact area and the thicker the lines. The ability to write both thick and thin lines depends on your proficiency and skill. In support of environmental protection, paper bags will not be provided proactively.
