Began learning jade carving in Taipei in 1988. Studied advertising design in vocational school in 1993, integrating design concepts into his work. Established his own studio in 1994. Received an honorable mention in the 14th Nan-Ying Art Exhibition (Craft Category) in 2000 for his piece "Waiting for the Right Moment." Participated in a joint jade exhibition at the Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall in August. Invited to the Hualien International Art Festival in 2001 for live carving in the local creation zone. Selected for the "Dream of Craftsmanship" award at the 10th Taiwan Craft Design Competition in 2002. Participated in a joint jade exhibition at the Hsinchu County Cultural Affairs Bureau in January. Showcased in a joint exhibition of luoshiping stone and jade carvings at the Changhua County "Flower and Tree Carnival" in May. Invited by the Shin Kong Mitsukoshi Foundation and Hualien County Cultural Affairs Bureau for the "Grand View of Stones" exhibition, touring department stores in Northern, Central, and Southern Taiwan from October to December. Invited by the National Taiwan Craft Research Institute to exhibit works such as "Lotus Ecological Charm" at the "Taitung Local Crafts Exhibition" in the Presidential Office in 2003. Featured in the National Education Radio's "Art Corridor - Xie Zhong-ren Jade Carving Exhibition" from March to June 2004. Received an honorable mention at the 12th Taiwan Craft Design Competition's "Dream of Craftsmanship." Held a solo exhibition at the Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall from October 2004 to January 2005. Invited by the National Taiwan Museum in 2005 to exhibit his work "Taiwanese Snack - Braised Pork Rice." Participated in an exchange with the National Museum of the Czech Republic, exhibiting "Sherlock Holmes: A Thousand Faces" from June to September. Established the "Yu Ning Shi" brand and opened a counter in department stores. Participated in the "Crafts Master" exhibition at Pacific Sogo Department Store in mid-December. Invited by the National Taiwan Craft Research Institute in 2007 to participate in the "Craftsmanship Close-Up - Application of Living Crafts" exhibition at the Executive Yuan Gallery. His work "Japanese Style Nigiri Sushi" was selected for the "Taiwanese Craft Competition" at the National Taiwan Craft Research Institute in 2008. In 2012, his work "Half Thought" received an honorable mention in the Traditional Craft Category at the "Taiwan Craft Competition" organized by the Ministry of Culture and the National Taiwan Craft Research Institute's Research and Development Center. His work "Tranquil Mountain and Water" won the Craft Category award at the 21st "Nan-Ying Award" in Tainan City. Invited to exhibit in the "Gathering of Taiwanese Jade Carving Masters" section at the Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall in 2013. Invited by the National Taiwan Craft Research and Development Center in 2016 to exhibit three works – "Japanese Style Nigiri Sushi," "Handmade Small Mochi," and "Moment of Leaping" – at the Presidential Office Gallery's "Gathering Around the Hearth - Sustainable Craft Exhibition." His work "Remnant Lotus Spring Charm" received an honorable mention at the Taoyuan City Taoyuan Fine Arts Exhibition in 2017. Held his solo exhibition "Xie Zhong-ren's 30 Years of Jade Carving - The Continuation of Culture" at the Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall in 2018. Invited by the National Taiwan Craft Research and Development Center in 2019 to exhibit his work "Auspicious Dragon Presents Treasures" at the Presidential Office Gallery's "Feast · Happiness" exhibition from January to June. Participated in the "Joyful Heart, Radiant Art - Taiwan Craft Development Association Boutique Exhibition" held jointly at the Hsinchu County Cultural Affairs Bureau (July 29 - August 16, 2020) and the Taipei Contemporary Craft Design Branch of the National Taiwan Craft Research and Development Center (October 6, 2020 - February 28, 2021). His work "Japanese Style Nigiri Sushi" was exhibited in the "Creative Regeneration Green Craft" exhibition organized by the National Taiwan Craft Research and Development Center from October to November 2021.
