What is the wood-firing process?** American clay, Japanese clay, and Miaoli clay are mixed in different proportions and formed slowly through pure hand-pinching (not on a wheel). After basic shaping, the form is refined and then polished to complete the greenware. Once in the kiln, it undergoes a five-day, four-night continuous wood-firing process using natural longan wood and acacia wood. The temperature reaches over 1200 degrees Celsius. During this time, natural ash deposits adhere to the pieces, forming a special ash glaze. Simultaneously, the kiln's flames swirl among the works, creating beautiful orange-red or blue-purple flame patterns. After five days and four nights of ash and flame interaction, a week of cooling is required for each piece to achieve its beautiful form!
