The nib is a German Bock #250 (#6) titanium nib, handcrafted and adjusted by Old Goat artisans into a calligraphy nib capable of producing variable line widths. It offers a writing experience reminiscent of a brush pen, with a distinct feel and more flexibility than standard steel calligraphy nibs. For calligraphy nibs, it is generally recommended to dip the nib in ink and allow it to break in for a period before using a converter. 2. If you experience skipping with a converter, check your grip angle – both iridium points should contact the paper simultaneously; avoid writing on just one side. If skipping persists, check the nib for paper fibers or debris. 3. Remove the converter and try filling the pen directly via the section for a test. 4. Clean the nib first. If the nib is not held perfectly flat on the paper, or if excessive pressure is applied, it can misalign the iridium tipping, creating a height difference between the left and right points. This can cause scratching and lead to paper debris accumulation in the slit. 5. The calligraphy nib is created by modifying an EF nib with a curved tip. Line width variation is achieved not by pressing down, but by adjusting your writing angle. By holding the pen more upright, the contact area between the nib and paper is smaller, resulting in finer lines. As you tilt the pen more, the contact area increases, producing broader lines.
