Established in 1983, as the Museum of Contemporary Art, Taipei (MOCA Taipei) approaches its 40th anniversary, we are releasing a limited edition "Anniversary Crayon Gift Box." This collection transforms the anniversary's main visual design into uniquely shaped crayons, featuring six iconic "MOCA colors." It's designed to bring the essence of the museum and the joy of freehand drawing into your daily life. The "40" shaped crayons were uniquely designed by the creative team at Bito. Inspired by the concept of organic cell division, they symbolize MOCA Taipei's significant evolutionary journey. The museum, designed by architect Gordon Wu, possesses a modern architectural tension; in turn, the shaped crayons designed by Bito extend this simple, pure visual language. The six "MOCA colors" include the iconic white building against a blue sky, the lush greenery of the museum's courtyard garden bathed in the yellow morning light, and the soaring lobby with its minimalist grey grid beams, all timeless and grand through the years. These richly pigmented, easy-to-grip crayons are a special collaboration with Lion Pencil. Crafted from a material that is non-sticky, resistant to breakage, and unlikely to stain hands or clothing, their unique shape naturally changes with use. This evolution allows for adjustments in angle and pressure, making them suitable for both fine lines and broad strokes, offering versatile ways to unleash your creativity.
