Vegetable tanning is an organic process to make use of natural tannin from bark, wood, leaves and other parts of trees. The process involves soaking hides in large baths of concentrated tannin over a course of several months. Therefore, it is generally a time-consuming process requiring highly skilled craftsmen. Vegetable-tanned-leather did not use any heavy metal minerals in the process, thus it is purely environmental friendly and is no harm to human skin. With the natural feel and earthy smell, the vegetable-tanned-leather will be vary from tannery to tannery and incorporated with your unique character after use.
