This home was built by an amateur architect, a retired soldier who had never received formal architectural training. He meticulously built his own home brick by brick. Over time, the size of the house expanded with changes in the family structure. I once heard the owner say that initially, he just wanted to build a house for himself. As his children grew up, he added a room for them. When they got married, he added an even bigger one. Whether this seaside cottage still stands or not, I feel fortunate to have seen it. It's the most beautiful house I've ever seen, with the most beautiful intentions behind it. It reminded me that love is the essence that can drive us to do anything, even building our own home. I was deeply moved by this story, so I took irregular square blocks from the architecture as the blueprint and used lines to represent the story of this woven home.
