Antique chevron bead 5 layer earrings.
Born in Murano, Venice, chevron beads were used for trade in West Africa. Chevron beads, which were also manufactured in the Netherlands, were exported to Africa as trade beads, and were worn by some of the ruling class as expensive items, mainly in the countries of Western Sahara.
