It is a variety unique to China, with scarce production. By the Qianlong era of the Qing Dynasty, its mining was nearly exhausted, leading to a sharp rise in the price of old Nanhong Agate. Historically, Nanhong Agate was used in traditional medicine for its properties that nourish the heart and blood. Buddhists believe it holds special efficacy, and it is thought to be the "Red Pearl (Zhenzhu)" among the Seven Treasures of Buddhism. Today, Nanhong Agate stands alongside Hetian Jade and Emerald as a pillar of gemstone appreciation. Miss Shiori has artfully strung 4-5mm Nanhong Agate, characterized by its "red, glutinous, fine, lustrous, and uniform" qualities, into a bracelet that exudes a sense of ordered elegance. It is complemented by 5-6mm moon-white natural freshwater pearls and serene jadeite. Measuring approximately 34cm, its length is ideal for wrapping twice around the wrists of most Asian women, creating a delightful chime with every movement. We strive to enable you to own personalized pearl jewelry at a more accessible price. / About the Materials The main stones in Athena pearl design pieces are always natural pearls, often accompanied by a small selection of natural gemstones. Metallic components in silver are S925 sterling silver, while those in light gold are 14K gold-inlaid or gold-plated brass. True beauty originates from nature; each pearl and natural gemstone bears its unique growth marks. While exquisitely beautiful, they are not perfect, and variations in color and texture are to be expected. Handcrafted fine jewelry pieces also cannot be replicated with 100% identical dimensions and finishes – this is precisely the charm of natural gemstones and handmade craftsmanship.
