While retaining its delicate translucency, we've enhanced the hydrangea to fully showcase the texture of washi paper. In contrast to previous creations, both the color and design have been imbued with a more mature aesthetic, with added vein detailing for a subtle touch of realism. The ambiance of these pieces transforms dramatically depending on your surroundings. Indoors, they evoke a soft, serene mood. Outdoors, they capture the crisp, bright atmosphere of a post-rain sun shower. Both settings are equally captivating. The coloring is entirely done by hand, one petal at a time, creating a gradient effect to prevent a monotonous design. As the amount of paint, water content, and color combinations vary with each piece, every item is truly one-of-a-kind. Mino Washi paper is made from kozo (mulberry), the raw material for Japanese paper. The kozo is bleached slowly and beautifully using ample water from the clear Nagara River in Gifu Prefecture.
