This is a plant-dyed stole woven from Japanese paper (washi) using the traditional kaya-ori technique. It has been hand-dyed to a bright, refreshing color using enju (sophora root) and akane (madder), both traditional medicinal herbs. The parts dyed with akane have a lovely color reminiscent of a fuzzy peach. When combined with the yellow of enju, it creates a vibrant, almost vitamin-like hue. The dimensions are 124cm in width and 186cm in length, weighing 117g. Woven with Japanese paper threads for the weft and cotton for the warp, the texture is exceptionally soft and fluffy. This light, thin, and generously sized stole is incredibly versatile, perfect for an impromptu layer when there's a slight chill or even as a lap blanket. For the first one or two washes, or when lightly soiled, such as after sweating, simply rinse quickly with water. The color will gradually stabilize. ◎ We recommend a gentle hand wash separately at home. ◎ Please avoid using washing machines, dryers, bleach, or detergents containing bleach. Use a small amount of a neutral detergent (such as one for delicate clothing) and gently press wash. Rinse gently twice, remove excess water with a towel, and air dry in the shade. (The entire process should take about 2-3 minutes). Iron on a medium heat setting with a pressing cloth. ◎ Plant dyes can gradually change color when exposed to prolonged sunlight, citrus juices, sweat, or over time. ◎ If stored folded in a brightly lit area for extended periods, the folded areas may become sun-damaged. When not in use, store it in a place away from light, such as a box or drawer. ◎ For long-term storage of "wool" or "silk" products, it is advisable to store them with desiccants and unscented moth repellents for peace of mind.
