Brass Care Instructions: Brass has always been a highly popular material for jewelry due to its affordability and resistance to fading. However, like silver, brass can oxidize. Moisture from rain and sweat, as well as air, can deepen its color. While some appreciate this natural patina, if you wish to avoid it, pay attention to the following: ♦ Avoid contact with water. ♦ Store in a ziplock bag when not being worn. If the luster appears to dim, here are a few simple methods to restore your item's original shine. Please note that while color can be restored if it becomes dull, the original shine might not be fully recovered if the surface is scratched (the vintage matte bronze look is also beautiful!). ♦ Gently scrub with a toothbrush dipped in a small amount of foaming toothpaste or tooth powder, similar to brushing your teeth. This can help restore brass's luster. Ensure to dry thoroughly after cleaning. ♦ Use a silver polishing cloth for a quick restoration of shine (not suitable for brushed surfaces). ♦ Dilute lemon juice, immerse the brass jewelry for about 5 minutes, and it will quickly regain its luster (not suitable for acid-sensitive natural beads like pearls).
