We carefully avoid these areas during cutting or place them on less visible or non-stress-bearing parts of the product. 2. Pure Hand Stitching Our products are not made using sewing machines; all stitching is done entirely by hand. Before stitching, special pricking irons are used to create the stitch holes in the leather, enabling the creation of the signature wavy stitch pattern, a distinct feature differentiating it from machine stitching. While this significantly extends production time, it is a crucial step where the leather artisan imbues the piece with soul and a warm, tactile feel. 3. Hand-Burnished Edges The final step before completion is the burnishing and finishing of the leather edges. This process ensures that the edges appear smooth, rounded, and natural. "Cut Line Style" employs its unique edge-finishing technique. Sharp edges are first repeatedly smoothed with sandpaper, then an edge sealant is applied to create a flat surface. This is repeated 2-3 times, followed by a layer of edge wax. Finally, a burnishing tool is used to rub the edges until they achieve a smooth, polished appearance. 4. Hand-Dyed Leather For our hand-dyed products, "Cut Line Style" currently utilizes Fiebing's leather alcohol dyes imported from the United States. To achieve uniform and natural coloration, we begin by slightly moistening the leather surface. Then, the dye is applied repeatedly with a sponge, gradually deepening the shade until the desired color is reached. Once dry, a fixative is applied to enhance colorfastness. Finally, the surface is lightly wiped with water to remove any surface dust and further unify the color. As each piece is hand-dyed, subtle variations exist between the colors of individual items, making each bag truly unique.
