Since 2012, she has been developing the "Sound Portrait" series, where musical notes are used to create visualized graphic patterns. Presented through video installations, these pieces resemble discordant musical scores. When the timeline in the video aligns with parts of the depicted figures, complex clusters of notes generate jarring, unpleasant sounds. This creates illogical noise from the rules of musical notation, much like political figures in plain sight, whose seemingly regulated actions are part of an unreasonable political ecosystem. Peggy KUO also brings her visual scores to life in concert hall performances.
