This will probably only become a hodgepodge, nothing at all. To design a perfume, you must first have a theme, and then find the main and secondary elements from the theme. After the concept in my mind has taken shape, the end is an endless loop of repeated tests. Of course there are so many kinds of vanilla plants, from which angle? Lavender, rosemary, basil, mint, marjoram, lemon balm... After eliminating one by one in my mind, I finally chose basil (the king of vanilla) as my protagonist. After the protagonist, the second protagonist? For me, there is no second choice, but the soft real lavender. Basil has a strong smell and high visibility, and a gentle and feminine character is needed to cut off its edges and corners. Designing perfume is like composing music by musicians, requiring a complete chord to lay out. In addition to the main melody, to have a high pitch around the head, you also need the BASS to base under your feet. So I chose geranium and white magnolia leaves to enrich the whole chord and create the feeling of a herb garden. Up to now, green leafy ingredients are still in the formula. But no one said that herbs can't have floral fragrance? To match with this fresh fragrance, Jasmine original essence should be more suitable, which can give the original formula some lightness. If the rose essence is added, the soft feeling of the rose will weaken the original freshness. Of course, this is not impossible, it depends on personal choice. If you don't want to make the smell too heavy, you can try adding a little pheasant essential oil. A little pheasant essential oil will refresh the smell. But don't be too much, or you won't get rid of the cheapness that citral makes. Speaking of the BASS of chords earlier. In terms of the freshness in front of you, using a heavy material such as patchouli or rock rose as a base may make the perfume in front of you thick and ruin the design so far. A lighter resin/wood type may be a better choice, such as sandalwood, Ami fragrant tree, Virginia cedar, etc. Up to now, the prototype of a perfume has been roughly formed, and then there is only a fine-tuned formula. What is missing? The next step is entirely personal preference and aesthetic experience. My personal preference is to design perfumes with memory. A well-balanced formula may be safe, but it may also be forgotten by smelling it without leaving any deep impression. So I added a little pink pepper to the original recipe, and used the floral notes and slight stimulation of pink pepper to liven up the whole recipe. Some bitter oranges are added to increase the sweetness and delicate feeling. Of course, bitter orange can also be replaced with bergamot, it feels different. And the original essence of jasmine has a lot of green leaves, and I personally think it is very suitable for enriching the formula. After repeated tests in an infinite loop, the ratio is constantly adjusted and tested. A perfume was born.
