Residing in Taiwan, she diligently pursues her craft in an old apartment in Taipei. Formerly a magazine and book editor for publishing houses, she now focuses exclusively on stamp design. Each season, she releases handmade original stamps, with her collected works published in volumes 1 through 8, featuring over 100 stamps. Her published books include "A Handmade Life in 12 Hours a Week," "Rubber Stamps, Open the Door!", and "12 Lessons for Beginner Rubber Stampers: Next Stamp Class." Using erasers as her primary carving material, each stamp is meticulously crafted, one stroke at a time. Her stamp designs often draw inspiration from everyday discoveries, travel scenes and encounters, and things she genuinely loves (such as text, flora, geometry, nature, and architecture). She then combines and deconstructs these elements, employing intricate line intersections, minimalist main and secondary lines, foreign characters, and personal symbols to create her stamp imagery. Chamil enjoys pairing stamps and colors, orchestrating solo performances or collaborations with stamps of various sizes, and utilizing repetition. Many of her graphic designs originate from fragments of her stamps, extended through stamping and combinations to create designs for items like postcards and washi tape.
