/Cheung Chau Bamboo Structures Postcard/ A traditional festival in Cheung Chau, held annually on the eighth day of the fourth lunar month. The festival originates from a time when a plague struck Cheung Chau, leading residents to hold the Taoist peace ritual and fast for three days, praying for divine protection. During the festival, residents erect three giant bun towers, three statues of the King of Hell (Tai Shi Wang), and opera stages to honor the deities.
