Lokta paper, also known as Nepali paper, is handmade paper made from a plant called "lokta".
It is very durable because it is waterproof, moisture-proof, mildew-proof, and tear-resistant.
Lokta paper has different textures on both sides, usually one side is smooth and the other is rough.
When making Lokta paper, one side of the paper is lined with the fibrous bark of the lokta bush. When these sheets are dried in the sun, the side facing the sun develops a rough texture. Therefore, each sheet of Lokta paper has a unique pattern.
