TATAMI MEMO: A premium notebook crafted with Echizen Washi paper techniques, infused with igusa.

This notebook is made from Japanese paper infused with "igusa," the rush grass used in tatami mats. It's a memo pad crafted from igusa that would otherwise be discarded during the tatami-making process. The result is a paper with a gentle, natural hue, subtly enhanced by a soft green that evokes the scent of igusa. This calming green visually enhances your writing time, making it a more peaceful experience. It also pairs exceptionally well with fountain pens. Even water-based inks prone to bleeding won't show through to the other side, offering a smooth writing sensation. Rather than stark white, the paper's natural texture blends beautifully with any color, promising an exciting writing experience. The TATAMI MEMO is designed in the same proportions as an actual tatami mat. We arrived at the "tatami proportion" after pursuing ease of writing, effortless pocketability, and the ability to quickly take it out and jot something down anytime... The tatami proportion is 2:1 (length:width). Creating it to these dimensions resulted in a perfectly usable memo pad! Our intention was for the design to also evoke tatami, so we incorporated the simple, calming colors of tatami and a design inspired by the tatami weave, resulting in a captivating memo.
