By carefully controlling the thickness of each glaze application and firing at 1260°C, it undergoes a 20-hour fiery transformation. Within the kiln, the material contracts and flows, creating the intricate patterns and sense of movement reminiscent of peacock feathers. The challenge in its creation lies in the precise control of glaze thickness and the adjustment of the temperature curve. If the glaze is too thin or the temperature insufficient, the characteristic peacock feather pattern will not emerge. Conversely, if the glaze is too thick or the temperature too high, it can flow onto the kiln shelf, causing the cup and shelf to be damaged. Even ambient temperature variations can influence the final outcome. Despite years of dedicated study, the subtle nuances of its transformation remain elusive, which is precisely what imbues each finished piece with its precious value. It is hoped that this artwork will inspire everyone to embrace hope when facing challenges, to persevere with unwavering effort, and to one day unfurl their own beautiful feathers, illuminating their lives with brilliance, much like a peacock.
