Ñandutí, in the indigenous Guaraní language, means "spider web." True to its name, it is a delicate form of handicraft created with thread. The technique involves stretching warp threads and then weaving or knotting other threads onto them to form intricate patterns. After stiffening the embroidery with sizing and detaching it from the base fabric, the Ñandutí piece is complete. The resulting motif feels somewhat crisp and firm, maintaining its shape while retaining the soft texture of the threads. To enhance the gradient's beauty, we used a contrasting color scheme (ecru for the warp threads and a light blue for the weft threads) and a tight weaving technique, extending the weft threads almost to the very edge of the motif. The two rows of beads woven around the bottom edge of the motif add a lovely touch. We've used two types of beads: those with a metallic sheen and translucent white beads.
