"Sea Waves" seeks to interpret and represent the impression and culture of the ocean from a modern perspective, extending the interpretation of marine culture through everyday objects. Surrounded by the sea, Taiwan has accumulated a deep and profound maritime culture over the years. It originates from the Austronesian migration, the Formosa described by Westerners during the Age of Discovery, the stories of crossing the strait from the mainland to the island during the Tang Dynasty, the traces left by different peoples arriving and departing through time, to the home we inhabit today. The history of "great eras" forms the backdrop of our growth, while "small eras" belong to the fragmented memories of our youth. These are found misplaced in fishing huts in coastal villages, by the seaside where we ran and shouted with friends, along the coastal highway stretching forward against a deep blue backdrop, on the western sandy beaches, the northern rocky shores, the moments when waves crashed against the reefs, the resilient fishermen guiding boats into the harbor, the lively fish markets with their enthusiastic calls, and the uninhibited enjoyment of seafood snacks... These fragments that accompanied everyone's growth, the past and present, and future possibilities are the emotions and thoughts we wish to share with everyone through "Sea Waves."
