The Horin series of incense sticks are all based on white sandalwood, representing a more advanced product line from Shoyeido, and have accumulated a loyal following over many years. Nijo, named after Kyoto's Nijo Castle, is the entry-level option in this series. Its aroma is elegant and serene, with a subtle, refreshing character that quickly calms the mind and brings a sense of tranquility.
Due to the popularity of this particular incense in Taiwan, we have specially imported this 80-stick "Tokuyoh" (value pack) for customers who love this scent. The larger packaging is more environmentally friendly, reduces packaging materials, and is reflected in the sales price, making it a great choice for those who need it.

I-Siang Cultural & Creative, the sole card specialty store in Taiwan, was recognized by Japan's Shoyeido of Kyoto in 2018, becoming their official distributor in Taiwan. This marked the first instance globally of a card specialty store becoming a Shoyeido distributor.
Shoyeido, a renowned incense maker in Kyoto, Japan, was founded in 1705 (Hoei 2). With over 300 years of history and now in its twelfth generation, the company continues to craft incense using traditional methods and natural ingredients. Many famous Kyoto temples, such as Kinkaku-ji, Ginkaku-ji, To-ji, and Kiyomizu-dera, use Shoyeido incense. The commemorative incense sticks you purchase at these temples are also carefully made by Shoyeido. All incense products are handmade in Kyoto workshops, following ancient techniques. Shoyeido's entire range of products, from incense burners to small incense rests and personal incense pouches, are made in Japan using the finest materials.
Despite Shoyeido's considerable reputation in Japan and abroad, they maintain only nine directly managed stores across Japan, deliberately avoiding expansion through franchises to ensure the highest quality of products and services. For their overseas locations, Shoyeido strictly vets the business philosophy and practices of each distributor and limits the number of official distributors to preserve their century-old reputation.
While incense does not have an expiration date, to ensure that enthusiasts in Taiwan can enjoy the freshest incense, I-Siang Cultural & Creative places orders every two months through a small-batch system. These are directly shipped from the Kyoto headquarters to Taipei, guaranteeing the optimal quality of the incense. Furthermore, due to the collaborative relationship and mutual trust with the headquarters, I-Siang Cultural & Creative is one of the few distributors authorized to sell Shoyeido's limited overseas edition incense and Japan-exclusive products.
Consequently, I-Siang Cultural & Creative has introduced seven distinct product lines, encompassing nearly fifty different types of incense, along with over forty varieties of incense holders, dishes, and burners. This allows you to select from a wide array of Shoyeido incense products without needing to travel to Kyoto.
Each box of incense includes a small, grey incense holder. This holder is designed for customer convenience and is made from natural horticultural soil, compressed under high pressure.
It can be used for approximately eighty sticks of incense. Please avoid forceful impact to prevent breakage. It will dissolve if it comes into contact with water, so please handle with care.
※ All product dimensions are measured in centimeters when laid flat. Manual measurements may result in slight variations.
