Pu Tuo says:
Treat yourself kindly. Don't get angry, don't try to please others, and don't punish yourself for the mistakes of others.
Smile gently, walk steadily, accept gains and losses with ease, cherish what you have, do not waste time, and do not disappoint yourself.
One bead, one accessory, one thought, one wish.
A touch of cinnabar red on your wrist is the essence of millennia of culture, a stabiliser for the soul, a red light guiding your way, and a small temple connecting heaven and earth.
Evil spirits stay away, a steady heart leads to success, and good fortune naturally follows.
Original design, new all-hand-woven cord bracelet, clasp style.
Due to the variety of customer wrist sizes and the time required to design more styles, we have not photographed samples for every bead diameter. Your understanding is appreciated!!!
To ensure a better fit, please be sure to note your wrist circumference when customising. Thank you!!!
You can choose from four bead diameters for creation: 10mm, 8mm, 6mm, and 4mm.
**10mm bead diameter is more suitable for men, as it is heavier.**
**A single strand of 4mm beads will be very delicate, so it is more suitable to create a double-strand bracelet with a fishtail clasp.**
The size of the fishtail clasp will be adjusted according to the bead size.
**The colour of the woven cord can be specified in the notes. If you have other ideas, feel free to send us a message.**
If you wish to change to purple-gold cinnabar, please send us a message to confirm the price adjustment before placing your order.

Water-ground cinnabar, Emperor cinnabar, Purple-gold cinnabar, and Crystal cinnabar are all high-content quality cinnabar. Their **main differences lie in colour, texture, hardness, and manufacturing methods**.
「Water-ground Cinnabar」
A true red, slightly orange-toned. The surface has a warm, matte luster that will become brighter with wear, forming a patina.
The manufacturing method involves repeatedly grinding fine cinnabar particles into a paste, mixing with water, allowing it to settle, collecting the upper "turbid liquid," and then allowing it to precipitate again (the water-grinding purification method). The bottom cinnabar mud is dried and then pressed using traditional methods. Uniform, fine mineral flecks can still be seen on the cross-section.
「Emperor Cinnabar」
The colour is a more true red, with a brighter luster and higher hardness.
The manufacturing process involves multiple steps such as crushing, grinding, magnetic separation, water-grinding, and high-polishing from natural cinnabar ore to gradually purify it, then pressing it using traditional methods. Emperor cinnabar has almost no mineral flecks on the surface, but has them internally. The surface uses a **high-polishing** process to achieve a metallic texture, especially in sunlight, enhancing the metallic feel.
「Purple-Gold Cinnabar」
The colour is a purplish-red, with slightly lower hardness than Emperor Cinnabar.
The manufacturing process involves multiple steps such as crushing, grinding, and screening from natural cinnabar ore, but **without water-grinding purification**. Therefore, the surface is not as fine and has scattered small mineral flecks, giving a starry sky effect.
「Crystal Cinnabar」
The colour is purplish-red and translucent.
Large cinnabar particles are directly chipped from cinnabar ore. Crystal particles are clearly visible on the surface, appearing transparent under light and emitting a fluorescent red glow.

> Cinnabar
The earliest written records refer to cinnabar with a single character, "丹" (dān). "丹" is a pictographic character. In ancient times, mineral shafts were dug, and minerals were extracted from them. Thus, the character "丹" is essentially the character "井" (jǐng - well) with a dot in the middle, signifying something extracted from a dug mine. This "something" is cinnabar.
Because cinnabar is red, mostly deep red, "朱" (zhū) also means red. Later, cinnabar was called "朱砂" (zhūshā). "丹" and "朱" describe the colour, and "砂" describes the shape, referring to irregularly shaped mineral particles.
The colour of cinnabar is permanent. Chinese calligraphy and painting are known as "丹青" (dānqīng), where "丹" refers to cinnabar. One of the indispensable "Eight Treasures Seal Paste" pigments also has cinnabar as its main component.
From a Feng Shui perspective, cinnabar is collected from minerals that gather the essence of the sun and moon, absorbing the positive energy of heaven and earth. Therefore, cinnabar possesses a strong positive magnetic field. We can observe that jade feels cool in the hand, while cinnabar feels warm.
Since ancient times, cinnabar has been used in Taoist rituals for drawing talismans, consecrating objects, warding off evil, and suppressing negative energies. Cinnabar has always been regarded as a superior material for improving luck, suppressing evil, driving away spirits, attracting blessings, and accumulating wealth. It carries auspicious meanings of great fortune, prosperity, and peace.
The "Shen Nong Ben Cao Jing" lists cinnabar as a superior medicinal substance, often used in treatments for calming the nerves, detoxifying, and alleviating insomnia with excessive dreaming.
Living in modern times, owning one or two cinnabar artefacts can also help cultivate one's character and nurture the eyes and mind.
> Authentication
All cinnabar products in our store are high-content cinnabar with a strong sense of weight. You can use the following methods for authentication:
. Burning cinnabar will turn it black. (Please heat through an intermediary. It is generally not recommended to burn finished products directly, as it is difficult to control the time and area. If it turns black after prolonged heating, it cannot be restored.)
. Real cinnabar can draw an orangey-red line on paper. (To avoid damaging the aesthetic of the finished product, please scratch on an inconspicuous area or use a complimentary bead for scratching.)
> Care
If cinnabar jewellery does not contain metal or plant-based accessories (such as wood, bamboo, bodhi seeds, etc.), it can be exposed to a small amount of water, but prolonged immersion is not recommended as it will affect the luster.
It is not recommended to get the woven cord wet. After washing, it should be air-dried before wearing, as wearing damp cords can lead to excessive moisture, which is not beneficial for the body.
1. Avoid Corrosion
Cinnabar is a mineral and is insoluble in water. However, frequent contact with chemicals such as soap and shower gel can corrode cinnabar.
2. Avoid Contact with Metal Objects
The mineral elements in cinnabar can absorb metal ions, causing irreversible dulling or blackening of the cinnabar.
3. Avoid High Temperatures
The mercuric sulfide in cinnabar only releases at temperatures of 380 degrees Celsius. Therefore, as long as cinnabar jewellery is kept away from high-temperature environments, it can be worn with peace of mind.
4. Avoid Collisions with Hard or Sharp Objects.
Cinnabar has high hardness but is brittle, so be careful to prevent drops.
5. How to Clean
If you find that the cinnabar is dirty, do not soak it in water, as this will alter its original brilliance! You can wipe it several times with a slightly damp cotton cloth and let it air dry for a while.
6. Oiling Method for Maintenance
Apply a layer of white tea oil or olive oil to the finished product, allowing the surface to absorb the oil, making it more lustrous and bright. If you apply oil and then seal it in a brocade box, you can wrap it with a common plastic film to prevent the oil from staining the brocade box lining.
7. Frequent Handling
Frequently handle the cinnabar jewellery worn on your body with your hands, allowing the surface to acquire a very thin layer of oil. Over time, it will become more antique and elegant.
The actual product is more exquisite and beautiful than the photos.
