Items in good condition are usually not cheap, especially from my two favorite brands, Celine and Loewe. They produced fewer accessories historically (unlike Dior and Chanel, which have an overwhelming variety...). Furthermore, awareness of preservation was lower back then, so their condition often isn't ideal, leading to a smaller circulation in the vintage market compared to other brands. I often wear repurposed pieces. In the past, even small, exquisite components could be transformed into stylish and understated accessories. This piece is a 100% authentic Celine vintage original button, with a beautiful golden hue, truly stunning! It's made of substantial metal, definitely not flimsy. In the past, most vintage items were handmade ✦, with the warmth of human touch rather than mass-produced by machines. The craftsmanship of artisans is undoubtedly far more delicate than that of machines, just as everyone appreciates products lovingly crafted by skilled artisans! However, today, the vast majority of processes are automated by machines with minimal human assembly, losing the former meticulousness. The simplest and most direct way to see this is by comparing the detailed patterns of modern "replica" monogram prints with the genuine vintage monogram prints; the level of detail is vastly different. If you love monograms, you must seek out vintage pieces! Truly! In terms of style, older eras favored ✦ simplicity, timelessness, and enduring appeal. Many new designs today are actually remakes of older styles. Yet, new models are priced higher than vintage ones. New designs are typically based on older styles, with added details or modifications. The final product often becomes more complex (or even strange......) than its predecessors. As we grow older, we realize that simplicity endures! This is mainly because the cost of high-quality materials is too high today, and their availability is scarcer than before; Earth's resources are dwindling! Furthermore, brands back then didn't have the "ubiquitous" presence of numerous branches like they do now... Their clientele typically had a certain income level and specific expectations for the finished product. There was no "fast fashion culture" back then; a bag was expected to be used for many years. The difference between new and old eras is clearly visible in the ✦ hardware. The hardware on many new bags oxidizes and discolors after just a year or two, but vintage pieces rarely do. Besides the high-quality materials and meticulous craftsmanship, hardware from earlier eras was often plated with real K gold! It's worth noting that Chanel Vintage is expensive for a reason; many of its clasps and chains contain real gold, certified by gold merchants! That's why, even for vintage bags from the 60s and 70s, the hardware can still gleam today if well-preserved. However, for new models available today, based on my knowledge of brands, none of the hardware contains K gold, making them prone to oxidation. Many say buying vintage bags is a unique form of investment, as they rarely depreciate and often appreciate in value. This is because, for a period, many people will frantically search for that item or a similar alternative, causing prices to multiply...... Therefore, with vintage, it's truly a case of "buy early, enjoy more; buy late, pay more" (this isn't an advertising slogan... it's a truth in the vintage world...). This is my personal experience; I regret not acquiring certain collections earlier. I can no longer find them, or if I do, the price is astronomical... But the problem is, even knowing it's astronomical, you're compelled to buy, because waiting will only mean higher prices (unless the condition is poor).
