Lovely play on a moonlit night

Original vessels created by ceramic artist Morishita Shingo. The lid was created by woodworker Yasushi Shimizu to fit the container. With this combination, a new "lidded container" was created. This time we would like to introduce "A Lovely Play on a Moonlit Night." A large bowl with a simple, rough texture. The rim and foot are black, giving it a firm feel. The cat? and girl? figures on the front give the impression of looking at a page from a fairy tale. It is a powerful piece that conveys the energy of the vessel in a quiet appearance. When I tried to put the lid on this vessel, I was overwhelmed by its power and found it difficult to start. I tried to create an image of smoke rising from the vessel. The lid is made of light brown Japanese laurel, and is round and shallow. It has a supple knob that gives a sense of movement. As a vessel, as an object... So how do you use this? ■Material: Container/Ceramics Lid: Japanese laurel, walnut ■Size: Width approx. 305mm, depth approx. 320mm, height approx. 470mm About the vessels ・The vessels are made using porous clay and various glazes, and are finished with an emphasis on texture and not preventing the vessel from breathing. Flower vases and other items that will be used while storing water for long periods of time are treated with an anti-bleeding agent, but the effect is not perfect and there are variations between pieces (due to differences in clay and glaze), so water may start to seep in little by little after a few days of storing water. Please be careful when placing the vessels in places that are vulnerable to water (we recommend taking measures such as using a tray). ・Please dry the dishes thoroughly after use. If they are not dried properly, it may cause mold to grow and may also adversely affect the strength of the ceramic. About the lid ・The lid is made of solid wood and finished with a ceramic paint. It is resistant to moisture, but not perfect, and may stain if left unattended. If moisture gets on it, wipe it off as soon as possible. ・Avoid using a dishwasher or microwave, or drying in direct sunlight, as this may cause the product to crack or warp. -The lid is not airtight, so it is not suitable for storing items that dislike moisture.
