Autumn and winter are perhaps everyone's favorite seasons (at least, it's my favorite XD). You can wear coats, hats, and scarves. Scarves are definitely my favorite item in autumn and winter. Even though I already have many in my wardrobe, I still buy new ones every year! Since falling into the vintage rabbit hole, besides bags and small accessories, I also keep an eye out for scarves. This is because vintage styles are more timeless, and the price is always cheaper than modern styles... Unfortunately, finding a vintage scarf in good condition and at a good price is definitely harder than finding a bag! After all, textiles are harder to maintain than leather. So, I can only acquire a few vintage scarves each year... Therefore, if you're looking for a vintage scarf, don't hesitate if you find one you like, as it's almost impossible to find the same style or color again. ⚐⚑˒˒ This is a pure wool shawl scarf, a rare large size! It's very warm but not too thick, so it won't feel bulky when worn. I originally planned to keep this one for my boyfriend, but because I've acquired so few scarves this year (really, none left, crying...||), I've decided to list this one from my personal stash (this is likely the last item for this year, barring any unforeseen circumstances)... This scarf is perfect for the winter in Hong Kong and Taiwan, especially for those who feel the cold more. Being pure wool, it's very warm, and the large size is rare. It features a double-sided embroidered, minimalist wordmark. The entire deep blue scarf has just one line of CELINE text, a rare, understated design that men can definitely wear. One side shows a medium blue background with deep blue CELINE text, and the other side has a deep blue background with medium blue CELINE text. The blues are distinct, and the contrasting colors on both sides allow it to be worn either way. The fringe is not densely packed, so even if a man wears it, it doesn't feel overly "feminine," flashy, or cumbersome. There are also small details along the edges; you'll notice a rolled hem on both sides, and upon closer inspection, there's a subtle diagonal weave. It's delicate, simple, yet possesses a touch of design flair. I personally love this scarf (which is why I initially intended to keep it for my boyfriend...!). The attention to detail indicates it was not inexpensive when it was new. Although it's a pre-owned item, its condition is excellent, with no obvious flaws, no noticeable snags, loose threads, or discoloration. There's also no significant pilling. It arrived without the original tag but includes the original CELINE paper bag. As you know, brand-name scarves are generally not cheap, and this simple style, especially from CELINE, is no longer available. There is only one of each scarf style available, and once sold, it won't be restocked. I only acquire a few pieces each year... Most pre-owned items from the past were ✦ handmade, imbued with the warmth of craftsmanship before the advent of machines. The craftsmanship of major brands is many times more meticulous than machines; every step is exquisitely refined! However, most modern processes are now mechanized with manual assembly. Machine-made parts lack the same level of detail. The most direct and visible comparison can be made by examining the detailed patterns of recently reissued monogram prints versus those from older vintage pieces. The level of detail in the monogram patterns alone is entirely different. If you love monograms, you must look for pre-owned items! Truly! In terms of style, older eras featured more ✦ simple, timeless, and enduring designs. Many current new designs are actually reproductions of older styles. However, new models are priced higher than older ones. Furthermore, new designs are typically based on or modified from older styles. Ultimately, new designs tend to be more complex than their predecessors. I believe as you grow older, you'll understand one thing: the simpler, the more enduring!! The quality of materials in older models is also superior to new ones. If you understand ✦ leather, you'll see it. The materials used in new models are mostly inferior to older ones. This is mainly because the cost of high-grade raw materials is too high and their availability is scarce today, coupled with the fact that brands had very high standards for finished products back then. The difference between new and old hardware is most easily seen ✦ on the hardware itself. Many new hardware pieces oxidize and discolor after only a year or two of use, but vintage pieces rarely do. This is not only due to the high-quality materials and meticulous techniques but also because hardware from earlier eras was plated with real K gold! Therefore, even vintage bags produced as early as the 60s and 70s still have sparkling hardware today! Among the new models available now, to my knowledge, none of the hardware uses K gold. Many people say vintage bags are a form of alternative investment; they rarely depreciate and usually appreciate in value. This is because the number of pre-owned bags in good condition on the market is decreasing, and with each passing day, there are fewer available. Consequently, prices only continue to rise. Additionally, certain brands periodically increase their prices, and each increase drives up the market price of pre-owned items. Moreover, with the recent popularity of vintage items among Korean and Japanese celebrities, once a particular style is seen on a celebrity, its price skyrockets. Alternatively, if a brand releases its own modified reproduction, the price of that style or even similar styles will surge! Therefore, vintage is truly a case of "buy early, enjoy more; buy late, pay more" (this isn't an advertising slogan... it's a truth in the vintage world...). This is based on personal experience; I regret not entering the vintage world earlier for many collections... I couldn't find them, and even if I did, the price was astronomical, making them unaffordable... For pre-owned bag orders, an extra leather care oil will be included (ᐢ.ˬ.ᐢ). I use it myself, so I've portioned some into small containers as a gift. Apply a small amount to genuine leather for cleaning and to add moisture, but it's not necessary after every use. You only need to do it periodically. I usually take the opportunity to care for them when I'm organizing my closet at the change of seasons (which makes the seasonal change a huge task...|||). The leather of pre-owned bags is already excellent. As long as they are not used roughly and are stored properly, they can easily last for another ten years and be passed down to your daughter!
