We have transformed elegant Karatsu ware fragments, featuring black and white patterns, into accessories. This Karatsu ware has a delicate and calm impression, with a beautifully nuanced glaze. To preserve the unique rustic charm and elegance of Karatsu ware, we have applied a slightly bolder gold line using Kintsugi, giving it a sophisticated and stylish impression beyond just being mature. Small freshwater pearls are also added, creating a subtle yet eye-catching refinement. This piece is created using a modern, simplified Kintsugi technique. Unlike traditional Kintsugi that uses tree sap from the lacquer tree, this method uses adhesive for bonding. The Kintsugi portion uses lacquer (a commercially produced paint, not raw lacquer) and gold powder (brass powder, pearl powder), with UV resin also incorporated for reinforcement.
