Playing Memories

A brooch in the shape of a small piano. The rainbow colors line up are the keys of music. Music before it was played, or memories of a melody that will never return. Floating within the translucent piece are remnants of the emotions and stories dwelling in the sound. Tenderness, childhood, a slight sense of loss. Unspoken emotions are blended together like music in the mottled colors of the design. The depiction of the cat, which appears to float and sink gently, is finished in 2D... It is both an ornament and a small, wearable objet d'art. It makes no sound, but it will surely resonate within the viewer. The same melody will never be born twice. Only this one piece.
