**About the Artist**
1973: Born in Fangyuan Township, Changhua County.
1988: Began studying jade carving in Taipei.
1993: Pursued advertising design in vocational school, integrating design concepts into his work.
1994: Established his own studio.
2000: Awarded honorable mention in the craft category at the 14th Nanying Art Exhibition for "Waiting for the Opportunity." Participated in a joint jade exhibition at the Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall in August.
2001: Invited to the Hualien International Art Festival for live carving in the local creation section.
2002: Received an honorable mention in the "Dream of Craftsmanship" category at the 10th Taiwan Craft Design Competition. Participated in a joint jade exhibition at the Hsinchu County Cultural Affairs Bureau in January. Exhibited in a joint jade and stone carving exhibition, "Flowers and Trees Carnival," in Changhua County in May. Participated in the "Grand View of Stones" exhibition organized by the Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall Cultural Foundation and Hualien County Cultural Affairs Bureau, held in department stores across northern, central, and southern Taiwan from October to December.
2003: Invited by the National Taiwan Craft Research and Development Institute to exhibit works such as "Lotus Ecosystem Charm" in the "Taitung Local Craft Exhibition" at the Presidential Office.
2004: Featured in the "Arts and Culture Corridor — Xie Zhong-Ren Jade Stone Carving Exhibition" on National Education Radio from March to June. Received an honorable mention in the "Dream of Craftsmanship" category at the 12th Taiwan Craft Design Competition. Held a solo exhibition at the Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall from October to January 2005.
2005: Invited by the National Taiwan Museum to exhibit his local carving work "Taiwanese Snacks - Braised Pork Rice." Participated in the "Sherlock Holmes Exhibition – A Thousand Faces" with the National Museum of the Czech Republic from June to September. Launched the "Yu Ning Shi" brand and opened counters in department stores. Exhibited in the "Craftsmanship Masters" showcase at Pacific Sogo Department Store in mid-December.
2007: Invited to participate in the "Craftsmanship Close-Up – Applied Crafts for Daily Life" exhibition at the Executive Yuan Art Gallery, hosted by the National Taiwan Craft Research and Development Institute.
2008: His work "Japanese-Style Sushi" was selected for the "Taiwan Craft Competition" by the National Taiwan Craft Research and Development Institute.
2012: Received an honorable mention in the Traditional Craftsmanship category for "Half-Thought" at the Ministry of Culture and National Taiwan Craft Research and Development Institute's "Taiwan Craft Competition." Received an honorable mention in the craft category for "Tranquil Mountain and Water" at the 21st Tainan City Nanying Awards.
2013: Invited to exhibit in the Masters' Area of Jade Carving at the "Cross-Strait Jade Carving Exchange Gathering of Elites" at the Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall.
2016: Invited by the National Taiwan Craft Research and Development Institute to exhibit works "Japanese-Style Sushi," "Handmade Mochi," and "Leaping Moment" at the Presidential Office Gallery's "Gathering Around the Hearth — Sustainable Craft Exhibition."
2017: His work "Lingering Lotus in Spring" received an honorable mention at the Taoyuan City Taoyuan Art Exhibition.
2018: Held his solo exhibition "Xie Zhong-Ren Jade Carving 30 Years – The Continuation of Culture" at the Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall.
2019: Invited to exhibit his work "Auspicious Dragon Presenting Treasures" at the Presidential Office Gallery's "Feast · Happiness" exhibition by the National Taiwan Craft Research and Development Institute.
2020: Participated in the "Joyful Heart, Radiant Art – Taiwan Craft Development Association Boutique Exhibition," held concurrently at the Hsinchu County Cultural Affairs Bureau (July 29 - August 16) and the Taipei Dangdai Craft Design Branch of the National Taiwan Craft Research and Development Institute (October 6, 2020 - February 28, 2021).
2021: His work "Japanese-Style Sushi" was exhibited in the "Creative Regeneration Green Craft" exhibition hosted by the National Taiwan Craft Research and Development Institute (October-November). His work "Handmade Mochi" was selected for the 2021 Taiwan Craft Competition and toured at the Taipei Dangdai Craft Design Branch of the National Taiwan Craft Research and Development Institute, Shin Kong Mitsukoshi Xinyi Place, Shin Kong Mitsukoshi Tainan Ximen Store, and Taichung Store.
