Kiriko glass made by independent Kiriko glass artist Saito Hikaru.
We learned the secret techniques of hand polishing at an Edo Kiriko workshop that was founded over 100 years ago, and even though we consider the productivity and profitability of the technique low, we value the tradition and want to deliver authentic Kiriko to our users, so we also value the technique of hand polishing.

"Tokuri: Tradition" is a product with a design that matches the design of "Guinomi: Tradition".
Unlike the simple designs of the Tokkuri/Tama Shippo and Tokkuri/Bamboo Grove, this is an elaborate design.
When cutting the many diagonal lines required for traditional tokkuri, the carving is done while peering with one eye into the inside of the tokkuri from a mouth that is only about 3 cm deep.
This is very difficult.
Also, since the double rings are in a position that cannot be seen when looking inside, you cut them while looking at them from the outside, but if the color is dark it can be very difficult to tell where you are cutting.
In this case, you should rely on the feel of your hands, which you have gained from years of carving rings, and not on your visual inspection.
When I try to cut with my eyes, it feels like I'm trying to see what's ahead in the haze, and my hands stop cutting, so I trust the feeling in my hands.
This kind of difficult work is rarely done in other workshops, and I think there are many craftsmen who cannot do it.
In terms of design, it matches the sake cup and is intended to be a traditional, basic design of Edo Kiriko.
It is positioned so that if you are having trouble choosing, this is the one to choose.
Not only can you use them for your own use, but you can also use them together with our sake cups when you invite guests over to entertain.
As mentioned on the tokkuri list page, tokkuri (sake bottles) are extremely difficult to cut due to their shape.
Therefore, there are very few other workshops that produce it.
There are many elements to carving that rely on intuition, and I personally would rather not carve if possible, so I am considering whether to continue making tokkuri molds or quit.
In particular, this traditional tokkuri style is much more difficult to make than other styles, so in our desire to create a stable product, this is one tokkuri product that we do not want to cut.
I hope you'll purchase it before it's discontinued.
