Also known by names like "Fan Sparrow" or "Hime-miya," its unique appearance and color are truly captivating. Caring for it is not difficult at all, making it a wonderful addition to your succulent collection. *Kalanchoe rhombopilosa*, belonging to the Crassulaceae family, genus *Kalanchoe*, has the scientific name *Kalanchoe rhombopilosa*. Its English name is "Pies from Heaven." Native to Madagascar, in Taiwan, we've affectionately nicknamed it "Chocolate Chip" due to its appearance – isn't it adorable! The appearance of *Kalanchoe rhombopilosa* is quite distinctive: a greyish-white leaf color, shaped like fans, with small, painted-like brown spots on the tips. The more sun it receives, the more prominent these spots become. Individual leaves are about 3 cm in size, and mature plants can reach about 30 cm in height. *Kalanchoe rhombopilosa* grows very, very slowly, so slowly that you might wonder if it's growing at all. After two years, it might only grow about 10 cm taller and gain 8-10 leaves, which is considered very healthy and normal growth. So, owning a *Kalanchoe rhombopilosa* is about slowly appreciating its beauty; there's no need to rush its growth! 【Care Instructions】 Succulents from the *Kalanchoe* genus are not particularly difficult to grow. They thrive in bright, sunny locations and do not have issues with surviving summers in Taiwan; they continue to grow well during this season. Overseas care guides mention that *Kalanchoe* are summer-dormant because they can live well in temperatures below 35°C, and winters overseas can involve snow, making it difficult for them to survive. However, in Taiwan, we don't have to worry about sub-zero temperatures, so they grow well year-round. There's no need to restrict watering during any particular season; normal watering practices suffice. "Normal watering" means that in a well-ventilated and sunny environment, you can water it once a week, ensuring the entire soil is moistened. Applying a slow-release fertilizer in spring and autumn can also help make the leaves more plump. If you are growing it indoors with insufficient sunlight and ventilation, we recommend poking a bamboo skewer into the soil. Water only after the soil has completely dried out, which might take 2-3 weeks, depending on the ventilation of your specific environment. 【Propagation Methods】 *Kalanchoe rhombopilosa* can be propagated through "head cutting" (cuttings) and "leaf propagation." "Head cutting" involves cutting off the top part of the plant to propagate it.
