Ceramic Brooch: Plumeria

About the Production Process: Starting with a sketch, clay is shaped and then allowed to dry slightly. This process of shaping and drying is repeated several times. We produce enough pieces to fill the kiln evenly over about a month. Bisque firing takes 7 hours, after which the pieces are removed, wiped with water, and each is individually glazed before a 12-hour final firing. Some pieces receive a gold glaze and are fired again for 7 hours. Because they need to cool slowly, we wait about two days after each firing before removing them from the kiln. Then, each piece is carefully examined, and a pin is attached to those that meet our standards. Currently, our success rate is around 70%. This process requires a significant amount of time and effort, but the result is a decorative brooch that combines the tactile feel of clay, the strength of ceramic, the luster of the glaze, and the sparkle of gold accents. We believe this is an item that can be cherished for a long time, remaining beautifully unchanged.
