Labradorite Pendant. Metal: Copper wire. Dimensions (L x W): 48 x 36mm. This is a labradorite that has been with me for quite some time, and it's one of the very few carved labradorites I've ever acquired. I picked it out with friends from a batch, and they mostly favored oval or teardrop shapes of a moderate size. Their choices were often carved with slender, elongated petals that immediately conveyed a floral motif, giving them a distinctive, exotic charm. However, my eye was drawn to this striking, large round stone. Beyond its iridescence and color, the perfectly circular shape and the carved pattern, which resembled geometric designs more than flowers, inexplicably captivated me. Back home, I struggled to find a design that truly felt right. Ever since I learned wire wrapping years ago (truly, measured in years! 😆), standard bezels or side-wrapped frames would inevitably press into the edges of the stone. Claw settings, I felt, would detract from the stone's perfect roundness. I later considered metalworking for a bezel that could avoid pressing on the surface, but the idea of enclosing it with a silver plate felt too constricting. Finally, while working on new woven bezels recently, I remembered it again. The open, curved frame complements the stone without suppressing the petal-like points of the carving. The curved lines of the bezel echo the pattern on the main stone, and the bail is shaped into a petal form, further connecting it to the central design. A casual photo taken in sunlight captured unprecedentedly vivid, dancing colors – proof, I believe, that I’ve finally found its ideal design. ❖ Product photos are mostly taken in natural daylight. These generally do not affect the wearing appearance. ❖ "Artistic Copper Wire" refers to craft wire consisting of a copper core, plating, and a protective layer. "Red Copper Wire" and "Brass Wire" denote bare copper wire (without plating). Sterling silver will be specified as 925 or 999 silver. ❖ Natural stones may inherently have characteristics such as cloudiness, internal lines, mineral inclusions, or small flaws from drilling or polishing. ❖ Shipments are typically in simple packaging with clean, protective materials and a shipping bag. A sealed bag for storage will also be included. 【Artistic Copper Wire Woven Jewelry】 ❖ Artistic copper wire is a specialized craft wire with a copper core, plating, and protective layer. With normal use and care, its color can remain largely unchanged for several years. ❖ Due to the plating and protective layer, please avoid using silver polishing cloths or toothpaste for cleaning, as this will rapidly wear away the plating. ❖ After wearing, gently wipe off any moisture, especially sweat, with a soft cloth and store it in the provided sealed bag. ❖ Please try to avoid wearing during activities that cause heavy sweating, such as sports, or while bathing in hot springs, as this can accelerate wire wear and potentially damage the natural stone. 【Unplated Copper Wire/Silver Wire Jewelry/Sterling Silver Metalwork】 ❖ Red copper wire, brass wire, and silver wire are unplated. Natural oxidation is normal and will gradually develop into a patina (antique bronze/antique silver color). The color change and speed of oxidation will vary depending on wear and individual body chemistry, which is part of the unique character of bare copper wire jewelry. In terms of oxidation speed, red copper wire tends to oxidize faster (developing an antique red-copper hue within days to weeks), while brass and silver oxidize more slowly. ❖ Wire treated with a patina (antiquing) process has a more stable color tone compared to untreated wire. However, polished areas will still naturally oxidize over time. ❖ If you wish to clean oxidized areas, you can generally use a silver polishing cloth or gently scrub with toothpaste, then dry or cool-dry with a hairdryer. ❖ After wearing, wipe off any moisture with a soft cloth and store in the provided sealed bag. ❖ Please try to avoid wearing during activities that cause heavy sweating, such as sports, or while bathing in hot springs, as this can accelerate wire oxidation and potentially damage the natural stone. ❖ Unplated wire pieces can be sent back for re-polishing (shipping costs will apply). 【Natural Stones】 ❖ Natural gemstones may have inherent characteristics such as cloudiness, internal lines, mineral inclusions, or black spots. There may also be minor flaws from drilling or polishing during processing. ❖ The natural stones used in these pieces are mostly semi-precious gemstones. Some stone types may have lower hardness (this will be clearly noted). Please try to avoid contact with polishing or abrasive items like silver polishing cloths or toothpaste when caring for the metal parts of your jewelry, as these can damage the natural stone. ❖ Please try to avoid wearing during activities that cause heavy sweating or while bathing in hot springs, as this may damage the natural stone.
