Vintage Singer 128K mechanical sewing machine with acanthus leaf decals

Vintage Singer 128K mechanical sewing machine with acanthus leaf decals and grapevine faceplate. Isaac Merritt Singer invented the world's first practical sewing machine in 1850 in the United States. Since then, the name Singer has been synonomous with sewing, and the fact that 100+ year old sewing machines are still used today, is testimony to their quality. The serial number of this machine is 為Y8778510, dating the year of production to the year 1936. There are some spare sewing necessities in the compartment of the wooden body. It comes with a key that is not its original and opening the lock is a little tricky. Extra care should be taken lifting the case by its handle, and it is best always to put a hand under the base, or carrying the machine with two hands under the base. With our limited knowledge of sewing, we got this machine to stitch a piece of cloth. This does not mean we claim it be fully functioning and durable as it is a vintage item. We therefore recommend it is used for decorative purposes only and not its originally intended purpose. The bobbin winder ring is a little loose but can still work when pressed onto the crank. The metal body of the machine shows signs of aging and usage, such as surface marks, wear on the decals and oxidation due to aging, especially on top of the lid of the tool compartment. The wooden base and case have some surface marks due to usage and a little damage at the side of the lock. All wooden parts have recently been waxed with linseed oil.
