Vintage East German Geska Stahlmahlwerk coffee grinder

Vintage East German Geska Stahlmahlwerk marbled burr mill travel coffee grinder from the 1950s. The Geska company was founded in 1919 by the two brother Hermann and Ewald Spiekenheuer, and they started making this type of travel coffee grinder in 1937. The housing is made of a hard plastic compound that is similar to bakelite and the hopper and crank are metal with a wooden handle. Its slim design was typical of the minimalist mid century style and made it ideal for travelling. This piece is in fair condition with signs of aging and usage that are representative of its age as well as a crack in one corner at the top. The photographs are a part of the description.
