Among these, the Hùntiān theory described the heavens as resembling an eggshell, with the Earth as the yolk nestled within the cosmic egg, a concept remarkably close to modern astronomical understanding. During the Eastern Han Dynasty, the scientist Zhang Heng, using the Hùntiān theory as his foundation, improved the celestial globes of his time and designed the world's first water-powered armillary sphere. This meticulously crafted bronze sphere featured poles, and concentric rings representing the horizon, meridian, ecliptic, and celestial equator, all capable of rotation. The ecliptic and celestial equator were marked with solar terms, while the inner surface of the sphere depicted the twenty-eight mansions and the sun, moon, and stars. Powered by water and gears, the bronze sphere rotated at the same speed as the Earth's self-rotation, allowing for the observation of celestial movements even indoors. This is a custom-made product.
