When I was writing a proposal for the Hong Kong project a while ago, the melody of Faye Wong's "Promise" suddenly rang in my mind, as if it was a sign. That is why Little Days has launched its first “City Special”; at a leisurely pace, it leads readers to rediscover Hong Kong’s unique lifestyle, art, outlying islands, and the ritualistic daily life and legends of the city. For those who have read Eileen Chang's "Love in a Fallen City" and Xi Xi's "My City" since childhood, and who like the movies of Stephen Chow and Wong Kar-wai, Hong Kong will always be an irreplaceable city. The comprehensive output of Hong Kong culture in the 1980s and 1990s, from literature, film and television, songs, fashion, food, etc., radiated its influence from Asia to all over the world. On the other hand, Hong Kong is also recognized as a place where people know how to live. People drink tea in teahouses early in the morning; when it is hot or cold, they drink different soups to nourish the body. During the holidays, it is indispensable to go out and watch fireworks, turn the windmill for good luck, buy peach blossoms to improve popularity, etc. Create a world of your own in a tiny place and live a fulfilling life. The five cultural and artistic walking routes in this issue’s cover story begin with a walk in the shape of Hong Kong. Hong Kong and Taiwan are the only two places in the world that use traditional Chinese characters. We visited Master Mak Kam-sang, the inheritor of handwritten minibus signs, to listen to the story of Hong Kong minibuses. After returning to Taipei, what I think of most is the interesting conversation with the owner of the quirky little shop. As Master Jinsheng said, he sometimes listens to young people’s popular slang in the car and makes key chains based on it. Gary, the owner of "Moviemarks", Hong Kong's first movie ticket store in Sham Shui Po, started to like Hong Kong movies when he went to Japan to study the language. The owner of the refreshing coffee shop "Island Table Grocer Cafe" in Ping Chau, Alice, once worked at the Tianmu Pub while studying at National Chengchi University, and she has a strong connection with Taiwan. Although I didn’t meet the owner of the “Rare Things Corner” during this trip, I guess he is a homebody who also loves traveling. I always can't help but bring back the interesting things I encounter during my travels to the city where I live, and then I have a reason to continue traveling. Aren’t these reassuring little shops like your temporary home in another city? This issue of Xiao Ri Zi also specially invited the well-known writer Pang Pang Shu to write the "Dream Planting Notes" column to share his feelings from dreams to the preparation for the construction of the "Pang Pang Shu Tropical Rainforest Cultural Botanical Garden."
