TAPANI: 3952 Old Goat - Named after the ancient place name of YuJing, Tainan, Taiwan, this is a high-quality basic writing model. Italian briarwood is typically used in pipe making. Old Goat specifically selects the burl part of the briarwood, which has a luster similar to the wood grain trim in luxury cars. However, briarwood inevitably has "black spots" (knots), and since the burl part is used, each piece will have them to some extent. The patterns turned from the burl are intricate and beautiful. Through numerous layers of painting, sanding, and polishing, it achieves a particularly substantial feel in the hand. Under the high-definition, high-gloss transparent lacquer, the texture is further enhanced. The high-definition, high-gloss finish is easy to maintain, resistant to ink stains or hand sweat, and makes the wood grain appear more three-dimensional. Most briarwood pens on the market are simply turned and polished or waxed; this kind of elaborate processing is rare.
